- To connect your bank and credit cards accounts to your QuickBooks, you need to do the following steps:\r\n

- Go to Bookkeeping -> Transactions -> select Banking<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- If this is the first bank account you\u2019ve set up, select Connect account; if it is not the first account, select Link account<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

- In the search field -> enter the name for your bank or credit card institution\r\n

- If you can\u2019t find your bank, but you still want to avoid manual data entry, you can import your bank transactions (we will see how in a future blog)<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- Select Continue -> sign in to your bank with your user ID and password -> follow the steps shown<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- Choose the accounts you want to connect -> select the account type dropdown -> choose the account type that matches your chart of accounts in QuickBooks<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- Select how far back you want to download transactions\r\n
- \r\n
- \u00a0Some banks let you download the last 90 days of transactions<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- \u00a0Others can go back as far as 24 months<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- Select Connect<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
How To Download Recent Transactions?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

- You do not have to enter the transactions manually because QuickBooks allows you to download the transactions<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- You will have to refresh the bank feed so you can download your latest transactions<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- To download the recent transactions, do the following steps:\r\n
- \r\n
- Go to Bookkeeping -> Transactions -> select Banking<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- Select Update<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Categorize The Transactions<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

- Once you are done with the previous step, you will need to review and categorize the transactions to make sure they\u2019re categorized right:\r\n
- \r\n
- Go to Bookkeeping -> select Transactions -> select Bank transactions<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- Select the tile for the account you want to review<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- Select the For review tab to start your review<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

- QuickBooks sends downloaded transactions to the \u201cFor review\u201d tab<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- We advise that you review them one by one<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- To streamline the review process, you can create a bank rule that automatically categorizes transactions for you<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- For each transaction, you have the following options:\r\n

- Match with an existing transaction<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- Confirm paired bank transfers<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- Add a new transaction<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- View and review multiple matches<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
- Work with partially matched transactions<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
